Chitra Ceramics was founded in the year 1960 by late Mr C G Narayanan. At that point of time Mr C G Narayanan was already in the field of terracotta tile manufacturing for more than 10 years and had successfully built and promoted many companies in and around Thrissur. His rich experience in the field enabled him to bring in the best and latest technology that was available at that time. During this period the company mainly manufactured roofing tiles and ridges.

In the 1980s the company extended its product portfolio and got into the extrusion of Hollow bricks, jollies and wirecut bricks. All these products were sold to different parts of the country. The proximity to the railways enabled the company to send its products to even the northern parts of the country at that time.

In 1985 the company was modernized and the German Hoofman’s Continuous Kiln was built. This was a revolutionary move as it enhanced the quality of the products tremendously. Today Chitra Ceramics is one of the leading tile factories in Kerala and this has been primarily due to the superior quality of its product offerings.

We at Chitra Ceramics believe that our customers are our biggest strength and this has enabled us to strongly move forward in spite of the various challenges that the terracotta tile industry is facing at the moment. Quality is a matter of Grace and we leave no stone unturned to make ourselves worthy of it.
